Evaluation layout

This is the layout of my evaluation, I chose this layout because it looks like a social media networking site, which then links to my target audience due to them being young teenagers they will use social networking sites a lot. This keeps them attracted to it and makes them more likely to read it, alothough this needs more information I believe I am making good progress.

As you can see I have made some drastic changes to my website, I chose to do this becasue before it was very simple so I wanted to pack the website out and give it more detail. I believe this has given the website more character due to it being more interesting rather than plain and simple.

Website editing

This is me editing my front page on my website, the idea i was looking for was a very simplistic website with just information down the left hand side with a slide show of pictures of Jack in the middle, however when I tried putting this into action I found it quite hard, the pictures were'nt going to portrait they were just staying in landscape, this has made it difficult for me to carry on editing, however after looking at videos on youtube I have finally found out how to do it.

 

Digipack 1st draft

 

This is my first draft of my digipack, I believe this is a good first draft due to there being a house style on the front cover and back of the album. This shows that it is a proffessional album, also I decided to put a twitter and facebook name on the bottom of the back, I did this due to everyone using social media now, this helps fans follow and support the artist. I also had the idea to make it a 'Deluxe Edition' I did this becasue it was different, eveyone was making normal/standard albums, after researching I believed that it makes it different to make a 'Deluxe Edition', this includes 'Bonus Tracks' and a concert dvd. I also had the idea of the same image on the inside of the album, I also found this after researching into pop albums, this gives the inside of the album a house style becasue the two pages meet in the middle so its one long sound board over the inside, This also gives of the stereotypical 'Pop' image of being in the studio and editing the songs.

Location for album cover photos

I am going to use several locations for my photos which will be going on my album cover and used in the website, for this part I need to get high quality, proffessional pictures so the album and website look realistic. The first location i will be using is Jack's college studio, due to Jack doing music at college the studio where he records is his to use for what he wants, with that i can take pictures to use for both the digipack elements. The next location would be the water gardens in town, this is a good location becasue its quite a high class, proffessional envrionment and will suit the genre that we are looking for.

Website Research

This is Justin Bieber's offical website, I used this for research becasue it will give me ideas for mine on pictures being used, the house style in the website and what extras they have, if I was to use some ideas out of this one it would make my website look a lot more proffesional and would imrpove my grade.

These are ideas I will be using to create my digipack, I chose these because these are all male pop artists so this is the style i was looking for.

This is the temlpate I will be using to create my digipack, this is the best template I could find so this is the one I will be using. Once I have got all the pictures I need I can start editing them and putting them together to make the digipack.

Digi Pack

I will now start my Digipack, this is the cd casing and a website, this has to link to the same syle you had in your video, for example I will have a pop based digipack which links to my video which is the pop genre.

Music video

This is my music video, it isn't at the stage that I would like it to be but however after the group splitting up and having to start my digipack and website I have lost a lot of valuable time that I could have been editing my video with. However I am still proud of the work that I have done due to me putting a lot of time and effort into this.

Location

The pictures that have just been uploaded are the shots I used for my locations, I chose these because these are the locations that I believe will give off the urban but pop star image that I am looking for. I chose the table and the bedroom to show Jack in his thoughts in the video and writing lyrics for the song. I chose the outside locations because these were the ones that were used for him singing. I also chose to do it at night because at night are when people are in their deepest thoughts, and because it is an emotional song the original song writer must have been in deep thoughts to write the lyrics.

Costume

For Jack's costume in the video I asked him to wear a snapback in all shoots, i chose to do this becasue it gives off that pop look and sutis the video. I also asked him to wear casual clothes, nothing too fancy, I chose this because for some of the video you will be seeing Jack 'writing song lyrics' and in the real world song writers arent going to dress up to compose their music.
I have also asked Jack to bring his guitar to all shoots aswell, I have asked this because the song is an acoustic song so Justin Bieber does use a guitar all the way through the song, so it suits the song if Jack is playing guitar in some of the clips in the song.

Actor

This is the actor I have chosen, his name is 'Jack Turvey' I chose Jack becasue he likes Justin Bieber himself, so he knows the song well and he does music at college so he is good at keepign in time with everything in the video. He was happy when I asked him becuase it would be fun for him to have a practise at being in a music video due to him looking into wiriting his own music in the near future.

Justin Bieber

I have chosen Justin Bieber due to him being a very popular male artist. Also the male I will be using for the video knows the song very well. The song I have chose is on Justin Bieber's latest album but does not yet have a video so its a good song to choose, also it isnt fast pace its quite slow so the actor can really show emotion and connect with the audience.
